– The Washington State men's basketball team lost to the No. 18 Gonzaga Bulldogs, 88-75, Saturday night in McCarthey Athletic Center in the programs' first meeting since 2015.
Big Picture: Washington State dropped back-to-back losses for the first time this season, moving to 13-5 and 3-2 in WCC play.
Player Performances: Nate Calmese led the team in scoring with 20 points and a career-high eight assists. Calmese delivered his fifth 20-point game and eighth-straight game in double figures.
LeJuan Watts had 17 points with six assists and five rebounds.
Dane Erikstrup had 11 with seven rebounds.
Turning Points: The Cougars held the lead for most of the first half, entering the locker room down three points. The Zags did not relinquish the lead in the second half, going on a 24-7 run to secure the lead.
Up Next: Washington State continues its road swing with a Thursday evening contest at San Diego, Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. WSU has play at San Diego only once in its history.
