PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State men's and women's indoor track and field teams will finish off the 2023-24 indoor season this weekend at the Ken Shannon Last Chance Meet from the Dempsey Indoor in Seattle. The Cougars have five individuals and one relay team with a time/mark ranking in the top-25 in Division I heading into the final weekend of the indoor championships qualifying period.
The Ken Shannon represents the final opportunity for Cougar athletes to break into qualifying position as the qualifying window for the 2023-24 indoor championships is set for Sunday, Feb. 25.
Qualification to the NCAA indoor championships is based on the descending-order list for the season and adhering to the qualifying regulations/criteria published on ncaa.org. For each men's individual event contested, including the heptathlon, the top 16 declared student-athletes will be accepted into the competition. For each women's individual event contested, including the pentathlon, the top 16 declared student-athletes will be accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 12 declared relay teams will be accepted into the competition.

Jasneet Nijjar lowered the Washington State
indoor program record in the women's 400-meter for the second time this season with a 52.34 to place third overall at the Arkansas Qualifier.
- The Cougars' men's 4X400m relay team capped the one-day Arkansas Qualifier by breaking a WSU record that had stood since 2009 with a 3:06.40 to win the final event of the night in Fayetteville, Ark.
- Eva Lowder cleared 4.15m to earn her third first-place finish in the women's pole vault this season at the Air Force Last Chance.

Jasneet Nijjar has set program indoor records in the 200m (23.54), 300m (37.67), and 400m (52.36), so far this season, ranking 18th in the nation in both the 300m and 400m.

Grant Buckmiller has set WSU freshman indoor records in the 200m (21.05), 300m (32.88), and 400m (46.45), and is running the anchor leg of the men's school-record-setting 4X400m relay team.
- Washington State sits at 14th in the nation in the 4X400m relay after last weekend's school-record performance at the Arkansas Qualifier.

Kellen Langford set a WSU freshman 800m record in 1:51.17 at the Riverfront Invitational.

Zenah Cheptoo has dropped the women's program record in the 3,000m twice this season, running a time of 9:06.98 at the Husky Classic from the Dempsey Indoor earlier this month. Cheptoo also owns the WSU freshman indoor record in the mile at 4:48.90.
- Transfer multi athlete
Mason Mahacek set the program record in the heptathlon at the NM Collegiate Classic, finishing with 5,762 points which ranks 13th in the nation headed into the weekend.
