Cougars Defeat Boise State, 74-69, Secure Second Quad 1 Win

BOISE (Hayden Wysup) – Washington State defeated Boise State 74-69, Saturday afternoon at Idaho Central Arena in Boise, Idaho.
Big Picture: Washington State moved to 8-2 and secured their second quad one win of the season.
Player Performances: LeJuan Watts led the Cougars in scoring with 20 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, for his fourth double-double of the season. Dane Erikstrup scored 14 points with a pair of triples made. Isaiah Watts scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Between the Lines: Washington State dominated the first half, along with going up 44-24, Wazzu held the Broncos to just 27% shooting from the field and 17% from three. The Cougars also found an advantage in transition, outscoring Boise State 19-2 on fastbreak points.
Momentum Swings: Coming out of halftime trailing 44-24, the Broncos came out firing. With Boise State mounting a comeback, Isaiah nailed a three-pointer to put the Cougs back 62-52, a lead they held for the rest of the game.
Up Next: After five games away from the Palouse, Wazzu will return to Beasley Coliseum, Saturday, December 14 to host Missouri State at 2 p.m.
