| By:
PULLMAN, Wash. (November 13, 2024) – Washington State Women's Volleyball Head Coach Korey Schroeder and the staff have announced the addition of six new Cougars on Wednesday. Jackie Carle, Lauren Johnson, Maddy Joswick, Ziah Sneva, Eliana Ti'a and Livia Ward have each made their commitments official to join the Cougars next season.

These additions include two middle blockers, a libero, a setter, a libero/setter, and an outside hitter. Of the six new signees, all are incoming freshman, with two coming from Washington, and one each coming from Idaho, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Oregon.

Jackie Carle | 5-7 | L/S | Portland, Ore. (Jesuit HS)
Carle is a libero/setter who comes to the Palouse from Portland, Oregon where she played at Jesuit High School, as well as with the NPJ 18 Forefront club team. In her senior season at Jesuit, she was named First Team All-League and a Scholar Athlete as the team captain of the 29-2 Crusaders, going on to win the Oregon 6A State Championship.

Coach Schroeder on Jackie Carle: "Jackie is an individual who constantly has a smile on her face, and plays with so much passion. She has proven to be selfless, and is willing to play whatever role her team needs to maximize the group's potential. Jackie has played on some of the most competitive teams in the Pacific Northwest and will bring a lot of experience as a freshman."

Lauren Johnson | 6-2 | MB | South Lyon, Mich. (South Lyon East HS)
Johnson is a middle blocker coming to WSU from Michigan where she played at South Lyon East High School. In her senior campaign, she became the program's all-time career blocks leader, and broke the single-season total blocks record. She has also twice been named All-Conference, and is a four-time Honor Roll and President's List honoree.

Coach Schroeder on Lauren Johnson: "Our staff noticed right away that Lauren brings a smile with her every time she steps onto the court. She's someone who is grateful for the opportunities she receives in life, and will stay loyal to those around her. I'm excited to see that personality shine when she gets to Pullman. Lauren has trained mostly as a middle blocker, but also has experience as a right side."

Maddy Joswick | 5-8 | L | Spokane Valley, Wash. (Central Valley HS)
Joswick will stay close to home but joins the Cougs from Spokane Valley, Washington where she played at Central Valley High School. There, the libero has been the team captain in both her junior and senior seasons, and is on track to be named All-League for a third-straight season after having been named GSL All-League Honorable Mention as a sophomore and then All-League First Team as a junior.

Coach Schroeder on Maddy Joswick: "I've really enjoyed getting to know Maddy during the recruiting process. She is wise, down to earth, and kind. Her maturity will allow her to excel as a collegiate student-athlete right away, and I believe she'll have the ability to inspire others, even early in her career. As a player, Maddy reads the game at a high level which is a great attribute to have as a passer and defender."

Ziah Sneva | 6-2 | MB | Olympia, Wash. (Peninsula HS)
Sneva comes to the Palouse from the west side of the state in Olympia, Washington where she played at Peninsula High School, and also with the Emperors Cup Winning NPJ 17 National Seattle club team. At Peninsula, the middle blocker is looking for her third-straight All-League selection at the end of this current season after earning First Team All-League in her junior year, and Second Team as a sophomore. Sneva was a nominee for Pierce Fall Athlete of the Year following her junior year, and the year prior as a sophomore, she helped her team to finish fifth at state after winning both the League and District Championships.

Coach Schroeder on Ziah Sneva: "Ziah finds a way to compete and have fun at the same time, and brings joy to those around her. She has trained mostly as a middle blocker, but she is a versatile athlete who could also play on the right side. I'm looking forward to continuing to watch her develop this spring with her club team."

Eliana Ti'a | 5-9 | OH | Meridian, Idaho (Centennial HS)
Ti'a is an outside hitter who joins the Cougars from Meridian, Idaho where she played at Centennial High School. As a senior with the Patriots, she was the conference Player of the Year and was also named to the AVCA All-Region Team. Ti'a was also named to the league All-Star Team after helping her team finish fourth in state.

Coach Schroeder on Eliana Ti'a: "Eli is a phenomenal athlete and competitor who is already creating her own great story. Her toughness, perseverance, and commitment to being the best version of herself makes her unique and is what has already made her so successful. Eli made it clear during the recruiting process she wanted to be a Coug, and I couldn't be happier that she chose Washington State."

Livia Ward | 5-10 | S | Oklahoma City, Okla. (Mt. Saint Mary HS)
Ward comes to WSU from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where she played at Mt. Saint Mary High School. As a senior there, she helped lead her team to her third 5A State Championship in 2024 while being named to the All-Tournament Team, and earned the 2024 AVCA Best and Brightest Award. At her High School, she is the all-time career and single-season assists leader and was also named to the 2024 PrepVolleyball All-Season First Team.

Coach Schroeder on Livia Ward: "Liv comes from a culture of winning, having just earned her third State Championship. She has worked hard at her craft and does a great job putting her hitters in a position to score. On top of being successful on the court, Liv has been extremely successful in the classroom and will embody being a student-athlete."
