PULLMAN, Wash. (October 18, 2024) – Washington State Women's Golf heads to Las Vegas to compete in the Clash at Boulder Creek to close out their fall schedule.
The Course and Tournament Format
The Clash at Boulder Creek will be held at the Desert Hawk Coyote Run course at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.
The course will play as a par-72 at 6,334 yards.
Teams will play 18 holes Sunday, 18 Monday and wrap up play Tuesday with 18 holes.

In addition to Washington State and host Northern Arizona, Boise State, CSU Bakersfield, Cal State Fullerton, Drake, Fresno State, Illinois State, Incarnate Word, Northern Colorado, San Francisco, South Dakota State, Southern Utah, Tarleton State, UTEP, UC Riverside and UTRGV make up the 17-team field.

Senior
Sarah Skovgaard Bils led the way in all three rounds, firing an opening-round 74, second-round even-par 72 and a final-round 75 to record her second Top-25 finish in the first three tournaments. Sophomore
Sara Pineros closed her tournament with a pair of birdies to card a 70 along with fellow sophomore
Alice Johansson who closed her week with a 79. Freshman
Agnes Brink wrapped up her second career tournament with a pair of birdies in Tuesday's final round. WSU finished the tournament in 11th place.
Alice Johansson Wins Again, Shares Ptarmigan Ram Classic Title
Sophomore
Alice Johansson picked up more hardware, sharing the Ptarmigan Ram Classic individual title in Colorado September 24. Johansson, who opened the season winning the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational hosted by Kentucky two weeks ago, entered the final round with a two-stroke lead after firing a 69 and school-record 65 in Monday's opening rounds. The Bollnäs, Sweden native closed the tournament with a one-under 71 to finish with a 54-hole school-record 205(-11) and share the individual title with Abigail Leighton from UC Davis who shot a final round 66. The Cougars finished the tournament in 11
th place and recorded the sixth-best team score amongst the field in Tuesday's final round.
Alice Johansson Wins Bettie Lou Evans Invitational in Kentucky
Sophomore
Alice Johansson fired her second straight round of 68 to win the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational hosted by Kentucky September 10. Johansson tallied eight birdies to post the best round among the 69-player field for the seconds straight day and held off TCU's Kirstin Angosta by one stroke to record her first career win and first individual title for the Cougars since 2020. Amy Chu and Marie Lund-Hansen shared the Meadow Club Invitational in California in 2020. Johansson shot a four-over 76 in Sunday's opening round before posting back-to-back four-under 68's to earn the win after entering Tuesday's final round tied for third. Sarah Skovgaard Bils shot an even-round 72 to finish tied for 10
th and
Madelyn Gamble carded a two-over 74 to finish tied for 18
th.
Sara Pineros improved her score all three rounds capped by a round of 79 Tuesday while freshman
Grace Rubelsky recorded a pair of birdies in the final round of her first collegiate tournament.

Kevin Tucker Named Women's Head Golf Coach
Kevin Tucker was named the Cougars' eighth women's head golf coach this past June. Tucker takes over the women's golf program after having spent the last six seasons on the WSU men's golf staff, most recently serving as associate head coach. The Washington State alum was also a two-time NCAA Regional Championship participant in his playing days as a Cougar. Tucker played on the men's golf team at Washington State from 2006-10 and was the second Cougar in school history to be invited to the NCAA Regional Championship his junior year. He went back to the championship his senior year, becoming the first Cougar golfer to receive multiple individual post-season invites. Tucker was also a two-time All-Pacific-10 Conference honorable mention honoree, making him the third Cougar in school history to receive multiple post-season accolades. During his time away from WSU, Tucker spent seven years playing professional golf and working at various golf clubs. He competed on the PGA Canada Tour from 2011-14, while also competing in All-American tour in Phoenix from 2011-13. He spent one season on the Dakotas Tour in 2016. Tucker worked at many Golf Clubs including the Estancia Club in Scottsdale, Ariz., Castle Pines Golf Club in Castle Rock, Colo., and Scottsdale National Golf Club. Originally from Kennewick Wash., Tucker graduated from Kennewick High School in 2006. He is married to his wife, Ellen Kellie, who is also a WSU alum.
