PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State men's and women's track and field had 10 student-athletes recognized on the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District teams as announced by the organization Wednesday.
Washington State's five women selected includes: Nana Gyedu, Jasneet Nijjar, Suzy Pace, Anna Rodgers, and Elise Unruh-Thomas. Representing the Cougar men on this year's Academic All-District team is: Sam Griffith, Jared McAlvey, Max Moore, Zach Stallings, and Ethan Willems.
The CSC Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 28 (women) and June 29 (men).
The Cougars are coming off of a record-breaking NCAA West Preliminary Round in which three school records were set — women's 4X100m relay (44.38), men's 100m dash (10.17), women's 3,000m steeplechase (10:07.70) — highlighted by Louie Hinchliffe qualifying for the NCAA Championships in the men's 100m dash as he climbed to the peak of the WSU all-time last last week.
