Rowing heads to Dexter Lake this Sunday for the Pac-12 Championships

LOWELL, Ore. – The Washington State women's rowing team heads south to the Beaver State this Sunday, May 14, to compete in the 2023 Pac-12 Rowing Championships at Dexter Laker. The regatta is set to begin at 9 a.m. PT and will air live on the Pac-12 Network.

Regatta Format
The Pac-12 Rowing Championships will take place at Dexter Lake in Lowell, Oregon for the second-straight season. The regatta will feature both men's and women's crews from the Pac-12 competing in a 2,000-meter race. Sunday's races are slated to begin at 9 a.m. PT.

The Field
The 2023 Pac-12 Rowing Championships will feature all seven crews from the Conference of Champions. Four teams come to Dexter Lake ranked in the most recent Pocock/CRCA Poll which includes No. 4-ranked Stanford, No. 6 Washington, No. 7 California and No. 19 Oregon State. Southern California, UCLA, and Washington State all received votes in the most recent Pocock/CRCA Poll.

"We're really excited to compete at the Pac-12 Championship. We've had a really great couple of weeks of training, even though we had to train through final exams. We were really lucky with the weather and we've had some fun practices. I really think the team is rounding into form at the right time."

Pac-12 Rowing Championship Point System
The Pac-12 champion will be determined by a point system. Placement in each race has a pre-determined number of points that will be awarded to the respective finisher. The team with the most points is crowned the Pac-12 Champion. For the full point system, see the chart below. Should there be a tie, the finish in the first varsity eight race will be utilized as a tiebreaker.
