| By:
WALNUT, Calif./ SPOKANE, Wash.  Caroline Jerotich ran the third-fastest women's 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:14.57) in Washington State track and field program history and teammate Cristina Molteni clocked the third-best 10k (33:57.85) in WSU history as the Cougars continued competition at the Mt SAC Relays Thursday. The Cougars also combined for a trio of event wins back in the Pacific Northwest on Thursday afternoon at the Whitworth Twilight.

Mt SAC Relays Day 2 Recap
Jerotich was the first Cougar on the track on the second of four days of competition at the Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Southern California. After running the majority of the women's elite steeplechase heat from the middle of the field, Jerotich made her push late and posted her second fastest 400m split (1:19.61) on the final lap to pull away from the back half of the field.  Molteni finished 10th in the women's 10,000 meter run, clocking the 12th-fastest time in the Pac-12 with her time of 33:57.85 in the grueling, 25-lap women's elite race.

Lee Walburn wrapped up the second day of the men's decathlon by placing third-overall in the competition with 7,263 points.  Walburn finished the decathlon with personal-best marks in both the pole vault (4.80m) and javelin (57.61m) to finish first and third, respectively.
Whitworth Twilight Recap
Washington State tallied a trio of wins down the road in Spokane as freshman Gracie Strickland took first-place with personal-best marks in both the women's shot put (13.70m) and discus (41.74m).
