SEATTLE – The Washington State novice rowing team opens its 2023 spring season this Saturday, March 25, as the Cougars head across the Evergreen State to compete in the Husky Open.
The WSU novice rowing team will only take its 8+ boat to compete on Montlake Cut this Saturday. The novice 8+ race at the Husky Open is scheduled for 8:35 a.m. PT. The Cougars will row against Washington's novice 8+ boat and UW's novice 8+ B boat in the season-opening regatta.

The WSU novice rowing team is under the direction of first-year Novice Coach Kelley Glennon, who comes to the Palouse after a successful run as a coach and student-athlete at UMass. She spent last season as a volunteer assistant for the Mintuewomen. Prior to that, Glennon was a four-year member of the UMass women's rowing team and earned All-Atlantic 10 first-team honors in 2021.
