PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State women's soccer freshmen student-athletes Reagan Kotschau and Megan Santa Cruz were named to TopDrawerSoccer.com's Top 100 Freshmen list, released by the website last week. Kotschau was listed at No. 41, the same position as the midseason list, while Santa Cruz checked in at No. 56 on the postseason list.

Washington State was one of three Pac-12 schools with multiple freshmen on the national list, alongside Stanford and Colorado. The Cougars placed multiple student-athletes on the postseason recognition list for the first time since 2019, when MacKenzie Frimpong-Ellertson and Bridgette Rieken earned top-40 spots.

Kotschau has started all 19 games for Washington State, finishing as the Cougs' second-leading point scorer with four goals and two assists. The Colorado native scored consecutive goals against Utah (Oct. 22) and at Oregon State (Oct. 26). Kotschau netted the game-winning goal in Wazzu's season opening victory over Eastern Washington (Aug. 17) and earned her debut assist, delivering a corner kick to the head of fifth-year senior Bridget Rieken for the opening goal in the win over SDSU.

Kotschau, the reigning ECNL National Player of the Year, also found Margie Detrizio in the Cougars' 2-1 win over Seattle U, Sept. 14. When the Cougars earned a come-from-behind victory at Arizona, Kotschau stepped to the penalty spot to deliver the game-winner in the 86th minute.

Fellow freshman Santa Cruz, a true freshman out of Burbank, Calif., played in all 19 games alongside Kotschau, starting 18 matches. Santa Cruz scored her first career goal in the Cougars' win over San Diego State, Aug. 31. Santa Cruz's game-winning goal came in the fifth minute and she became the third freshman to net a goal, alongside Kotschau and Naomi Clark.

The SoCal standout also earned her first career assist in the Cougs' win at Arizona, Oct. 5, dishing the equalizer to senior Margie Detrizio. Santa Cruz added a second assists in the tie at Oregon State, feeding Kotschau for the first-half equalizer.

Kotschau and Santa Cruz were both included in TopDrawerSoccer.com's midseason freshmen list, alongside Clark, who finished her debut season with four goals.
