COLLEGE STATION, Texas (November 15, 2023) – Washington State Swimming posted seven school Top-10 times and broke the school record in the 400 medley relay during the opening day of the Art Adamson Invite hosted by Texas A&M Wednesday.

The Cougars closed the day in fourth place with 109 points, trailing only No. 25 Texas A&M, No. 23 UCLA and LSU but outscored San Diego State, Houston and Utah through the meet's first 12 events.

"Today was a great day to be a Coug! We had multiple Top-10 times, multiple lifetime best times and a school record in the 400 Medley Relay by over two seconds!" Head Coach

WSU capped the evening finals in record fashion as the 400 medley relay team of
Anna Rauchholz,
Emily Lundgren,
Dori Hathazi and
Madison Parker broke the school record by over two seconds with a 3:36.03 to finish third in the event, just behind Texas A&M and UCLA. Rauchholz opened the race with a 53.86 in the 100 back, improving her own mark by three one-hundredths of a second, the second-fastest 100 back time in program history.

The Cougars opened the evening finals with the 200 free relay team of Parker,
Emma Wright,
Angela Di Palo and
Selena Duran Ortiz placing sixth out of the 24 teams with Parker posting a 22.87 in the opening 50, the fifth-fastest time in school history. In the 500 free, WSU posted a pair of Top-10 times as freshman
Mira Szimcsak finished with a 4:46.92, good for an NCAA B time and the third-fastest time in program history while sophomore
Dori Hathazi placed eighth with a 4:48.12, the fifth-fastest time in program history.

Later in the 200 IM, sophomore
Emily Lundgren swam a 2:00.77 for the fifth-fastest time in program history while freshman
Ariel Wang posted a 2:01.88, ninth-fastest in WSU history and freshman
Madison Parker followed with a sixth-place finish in the 50 free with a 22.75, beating her time from earlier in the meet for the fourth-fastest 50 free time in Cougar history.
