| By:
STANFORD, Calif. (October 28, 2023) – Washington State Swimming dropped a 117-65 contest at No. 10 Stanford Saturday afternoon.

For the Cougars, freshman Mira Szimcsak finished third in the 600 free and sophomore Emma Wright touched third in the 150 free while freshman Madison Parker continued her impressive start to her collegiate career, finishing third in the 50 free, one tenth of a second behind the winner.

In the 150 fly, sophomore Dori Hathazi touched second and fellow sophomore Emily Lundgren touched second in the 150 breast.

"We knew it was going to be a really, really big challenge racing against a very impressive Stanford team after battling No. 11 Cal Friday. We changed up some of the distances today to see some different strategies as we try and work towards the Pac-12 Championships and the big Texas A&M meet next month," Head Coach Matt Leach said. "Swimming back-to-back days will help us prepare for that back-to-back racing in the postseason and today was a good day for our young team to compete at a high level every time you touch the water."

Next up for Washington State will be a trip to Texas for the Art Adamson Invite hosted by Texas A&M November 15-17.
