COUGARS VS BUFFALOES

Last season, Colorado also made the trip to Pullman, earning a 1-1 draw as the Cougars pounded the Buffs with 39 shots (tied for fourth most in WSU history). In the programs' history, WSU holds an 8-4-1 advantage.
DETRIZIO DOMINATION
Margie Detrizio entered her senior season as a Preseason All-Pac-12 selection, the only student-athlete outside of the four California schools to be recognized on the 11-member team, and the Conference's top returning goalscorer. Detrizio has spearheaded the Cougar offense each of the past two seasons, and now sits seventh in WSU history with 24 career goals scored. Detrizio picked up her 15th career assist in WSU's draw at California last week, moving her into a seventh-place tie in Cougar history. With the assist, the senior star earned her 63rd career point and sits seventh in WSU history.
RIEKEN SURPASSES 7,000 MINUTES PLAYED
Fifth-year senior defender
Bridget Rieken eclipsed 7,000 career minutes played in a Cougar uniform in WSU's match at Arizona State, Oct. 8. The Idaho native was welcomed back to Lower Soccer Field for another season, seeking redemption for a 2022 senior season which ended in injury and the Cougs outside of the postseason conversation. Since then, Rieken was named the Aug. 28 Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week, while also making her 83rd career appearance (eighth school history) and starting her 80th career match (sixth). In her time at WSU, Rieken has centered a backline to the national semifinals, and limited opponents to less than a goal per game. Â
SHULENBERGER APPROACHES 100 CAREER WINS
WSU Head Coach
Todd Shulenberger earned his 97th career victory in last Thursday's win at Arizona. Shulenberger holds a .626 winning percentage. Last season, Shulenberger broke the program's win record with his 89th career victory, defeating Utah, Oct. 2, 2022, surpassing Matt Potter with 88 career wins in Pullman.
COOPER RE-WRITING WSU RECORD BOOK
Junior goalkeeper
Nadia Cooper is no stranger to re-writing the WSU record book, this season setting her sights on the career goalkeeping lists. In WSU's come-from-behind win at Arizona, the Houstonian picked up her 25th career win, moving into fifth place in school history. Cooper made a season-high nine saves in WSU's program-first win over Portland, one shy of her single-game career high. The junior netminder eclipsed 4,000 career minutes, the sixth-most minutes between the pipes in program history. She has also made 149 career saves and vaulted up to seventh on the top-10 career saves list.
OUCH, NOT COOL CAL
The Cougars suffered 21 fouls in Berkeley from the Golden Bears, the most fouls committed against Wazzu in a single match since Oct. 26, 2012 when Oregon State fouled WSU 20 times.
GOOD THINGS COME IN THREES
Rajanah Reed,
Bridget Rieken, and
Naomi Clark are all tied for second on the team with three goals scored each. The trio have come to life in different matches, combining for four game-winning goals.
FIFTY MATCHES MILESTONE
Several Cougars are reaching milestones in their collegiate careers involving the number '50'. Junior
Reese Tappan eclipsed 4,000 minutes played at the start of the month and is set to make her 50th career start in Thursday's match. Junior
Nadia Cooper next appearance will mark her 50th game played. Junior
Lindsey Turner is one appearance shy of 50 career college games played. Senior
Jenna Studer, out for the season, made her 50th career appearance in WSU's win at Texas A&M.
PICKING THEMSELVES BACK UP
