Soccer sets up its spring schedule

PULLMAN, Wash. - Coming off one of its best finishes in conference play, Washington State soccer is set to get back to work with the release of its spring schedule. The Cougars will play five times during the exhibition season including four times in Pullman.
Opening up the spring the Cougs will host Palouse rival Idaho March 9 at 6:30 pm. The two teams met in an exhibition contest to open the 2021 fall season in Moscow with the Cougs coming out on top 2-0. A few weeks later on March 27 at noon the Cougs host the Crossfire Boys club team from the Westside. April 2 at 1 p.m. the Cougs host British Columbia before closing out their home stint against Boise State April 9 at 1 p.m. The last time the Cougs and the Broncos were set to face off in the 2019 spring season but were unable to play that final contest. In the regular season the two sides have met five times, last in 2016, with the Cougs taking a 4-0-1 record against Boise State. To close out play in the spring the Cougs head west to take on Seattle Pacific April 16 at 11 a.m. The Cougs and the Falcons have faced off three times in program history in the regular season with WSU taking all three contests, the last of which was played in 1990.
The spring season gives the Cougars a chance at a whole new look with the departure of its most decorated senior class in program history in the fall. Despite the losses to key contributors the Cougs bring back a slew of talent led by super seniors Aaqila McLyn, Mykiaa Minniss, and Sydney Studer as well as all everything goalkeeper Nadia Cooper. In addition to the returning Cougs, WSU's roster is bolstered by the additions of a trio of transfers including Brianna McReynolds (Oregon State), Lindsey Turner (UC Riverside), and goalkeeper Musuai Isaia (Peninsula College).
With winter weather possibilities, the location of the Cougars' home contests are still to be determined.
