SAN FRANCISCO – Washington State women's volleyball (22-9, 14-6 Pac-12) had four student-athletes recognized by the Pac-12 as all-conference performers as announced by the league office Tuesday.
Magda Jehlarova and
Pia Timmer each earned first team All-Pac-12 honors while Laura Jansen and Katie Ryan were each named honorable mention All-Pac-12.
Jehlarova is now a four-time first team All-Pac-12 selection having been named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year back in 2019 in addition to all-freshman and first team all-conference honors as a true freshman. The senior from Prerov, Czech Republic, is one of the premier middles in the nation and ranks eighth in the NCAA and first in the Pac-12 with 1.50 blocks per set. She is second all-time at WSU in career blocks per set (1.44), career block assists (478), and career total blocks (592). Jehlarova set a three-set WSU match record with 11 total blocks in a sweep on the road at Cal earlier this season, earning her the first of two Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Pia Timmer, becomes a three-time first team honoree having been recognized as All-Pac-12 and both Spring and Fall of 2021. Timmer joined the 1,000 career kills club at WSU and has climbed to ninth all-time at WSU with 1,248 over her four years (3.30 kills/set) going into the 2022 NCAA Tournament. She nabbed one Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week award on the season and averaged 4.53 kills while hitting .317 (145-40-331) over the Cougars' final nine matches. A six-rotation hitter, Timmer also tied for the team lead with 37 aces and averaged 1.97 digs/set with 36 blocks during the regular season.
Fifth-year graduate transfer, Laura Jansen, also plays all six rotations for the Cougs and led the team with 3.51 kills/set on the season. Jansen had five double-doubles on the year and four matches with 20 or more kills. A three-time first team All-Sun Belt Conference selection over her first four years of collegiate volleyball, Jansen is well over 1,000 career kills (1,487) and 1,000 career digs (1,113) after a full season in Crimson and Gray.
Katy Ryan earns her second-career postseason all-conference nod after being named Pac-12 All-Freshman a season ago. Heading into the NCAA tournament, Ryan is well past her freshman season totals in blocks (93) and kills (272). A native of Rathdrum, Idaho, Ryan had 12 kills while hitting .632 (12-0-19) in last Friday's sweep over Apple Cup rival No. 24 Washington. Her efficient season finale was one of seven matches on the year in which she tallied double digit kills and a hitting percentage at .300 or higher.
The 24th-ranked Cougs received a No. 7 seed by the NCAA women's volleyball selection committee and will take on UNLV (26-4, 17-1 MW) in the first round of the NCAA tournament Thursday on ESPN+ beginning at 5 p.m. (PST).
