Six School Records Fall as the Cougs Finish the Art Adamson Invite

College Station, Texas – Washington State Women's Swimming ended a record-setting week with two more school records and more Top-10 times on the final day of the Art Adamson Invite hosted by Texas A&M Friday.  

The Cougars finished the three-day meet with six school records broken.  

After posting the second fastest time in WSU history in the 100 back Noelle Harvey led the way for WSU during preliminaries to come back in the "B" final and was joined by fellow Coug Kiana Swain. Oregon native Anna Rauchholz and junior Josie Liebzeit swam powerfully to come back for the afternoon C-Final event. Later during the evening events, Rauchholz made her second top-10 time of the weekend as she posted a 1:59.13 time in the 200 back, the eighth fastest swim in WSU history.  

Angela Di Palo opened morning prelims with the first Top 10 of the day touching the wall at 49.55 moving into third in the 100 free and leading the Cougars into the "A" final for the second day in a row. During the final sophomore, Di Palo took fifth for the Cougs in the 200 free touching the wall at 1:46.91.  

Freshman Kirsten De Goede claimed a spot in the "D" final during the preliminaries and in the evening slid into the tenth position on the Top-10 with a 49.92 in the 100 free, this is her second Top-10 of the weekend.  

Emily Lundgren was at it again today as she moved into 2nd in the 200 Breast in a 2:10.67 to lead the way for the Cougs in the "A" final during the preliminaries. In the evening final she had a fantastic swim and took 10th to knock down the WSU school record in the 200 Breast after she touched the wall at 2:08.94 to break the previous record held by Mackenzie Duarte in 2019 with a time of 2:09.47, meeting the requirements to attend NCAA. 

Dori Hathazi took down a 13-year-old school record in the 200 fly to post a time of 1:56.08 to break the previous record held by Michaela Ahlin in 2009 with a time of 1:56.46. The WSU record holder clinched the second spot for Crimson and Gray in the third "A" final. In the evening final the star-studded freshman tied her school record matching the time she performed in the prelims and took fifth overall.  

Hawaiian native Kaya Takashige also snagged a spot to compete in the 200 fly "D" final. The junior made her first top 10 times as she grabbed the tenth spot on the 200 fly Top-10 list after she touched the wall at 2:02.82 to qualify for the open water nationals'.  

Freshman Lauren Wille claimed two top-10 swims in one as she made an All-Time Top 10 time in 1650 free with a 16:46.07 good for 5th all-time 10:08.52 good for 6th all-time in 1000 free. Junior from New Zealand Kiana Swain also joined the top-10 party as she lowered her ninth spot on the top 10 in the 200 back to post a time of 1:59.23, seventh best in WSU history. 

The 200 free relay of Harvey, De Goede, Di Palo, and Selena Duran clinched sixth place overall recording a time of 1:30.59 trailing Texas A&M ahead of SCU. The 800 free relay of Hathazi, de Goede, Di Palo, Harvey claimed fourth at 7:12.81 following LSU and ahead of No. 7 Alabama.  

The Cougars finished sixth place out of seven teams.
