COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Washington State Women's swimming broke a school record and recorded seven Top-10 times during the opening day of the Art Adamson Invitational hosted by Texas A&M Wednesday. The Cougars tallied 53 points to finish the day sixth out of seven schools, with the other programs receiving points in diving which WSU does not have.

The 200 Free Relay team of Noelle Harvey, Kirsten De Goede, Angela Di Palo, and Selena Duran set school records with a 1:30.59 time to place sixth in the event.

"It's a great trend that records have been broken the past three championship meets," Head Coach Matt Leach said.

During preliminaries veteran swimmer Noelle Harvey added her name to the Top-10 Times list with a 22.97 in the 200-free relay, the sixth fastest time in program history. In the evening final the sophomore moved up in the 100 back with a 54.13, the second fastest time in WSU history.

During the morning preliminaries, freshman Dori Hathazi recorded 4:51.06 in the 500 freestyle, the eighth fastest time in WSU history, but in the evening final the standout swimmer improved her time to a 4:50.82 moving into the seventh fastest time in the 500 free in WSU history.

Freshmen Anna Rauchholz and Kirsten De Goede picked up their first Top-10 Times for the Cougars. Rauchholz took the 10th spot in the 100 back as she touched the wall at 54.99. In the morning preliminaries, freshman Kirsten De Goede tallied another All-Time Top 10 in the 50-yard free with a 23.12, the eighth fastest time in WSU history. De Goede took the top spot in the 50 free for the Cougars in the "D" final and was joined by Selena Duran

Native Californian Emily Lundgren stepped up to post a 2:02.41 in the 200 IM moving into ninth All-Time in WSU history. This is the second event she's posted a top-10 time within the season.

"We've had a really hot first day, obviously we need more people to step up here and continue to grow and build off what we did. We're super excited about coming in tomorrow with a lot more swimming ahead of the Cougs and we just will continue to try and break school records and be in the top 10. Go Cougs," Leach said.
