Cougars Claim Four Races but Fall to No. 9 Cal

Pullman, WASH. (October 16, 2022) –Washington State Women's Swimming recorded four individual wins but dropped a 167-94 decision to No. 9 California at Gibb Pool Saturday morning.
Freshman Emily Lundgren continued her impressive start to her Cougar career, posting two wins against Cal after claiming the 100 and 200 breast. Fellow underclassman, Noelle Harvey claimed her first conference win this season in the 200 back and finished third in the 1000 free.
Standout freshman, Dori Hathazi took second in the 200 fly and 500 free, she later ended the meet with a win in the 400 IM. The Washington State's 400-yard freestyle relay team of Noelle Harvey, Angela Di Palo, Kirsten de Goede, and Hailey Grotte took third.
Junior, Kiana Swain claimed third in the 200 breast and Anna Rauchholz took second in the 100 breast.
"It was an exciting time for us to continue to grow and build and we're going to get back to training and focus on our next group," Head Coach Matt Leach said.
The Cougars will host Stanford on Oct. 28 at 5 p.m.
