Kimtai Leads Cougars at Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS – The Washington State women's cross country program competed in the Battle Born Collegiate Challenge Friday morning, hosted by UNLV at the Craig Ranch Regional Park.
WSU WOMEN
The Washington State women's program, currently ranked 12th in the west region, totaled 256 points in this event, placing ninth overall as a team.
WSU was led on the day once again by freshman Neema Kimtai who posted a 26th place finish overall with a time of 20:30.1. Kimtai was followed by teammate Erin Mullins in 36th place overall, recording a time of 20:44.8 at the Craig Ranch Regional Park. Zorana Grujic and Jelena Grujic were next across the finish line for Washington State, as Zorana recorded a time of 21:25.0 (68th) and Jelena finished just behind her sister at 21:31.0.
Rounding out the remainder of the field for Washington State was Caroline Jerotich with a time of 21:41.9 (79th), Alaina Stone Boggs at 21:42.3 (80th), Pia Richards at 22:29.4 (94th), Samantha Boyle clocking a time of 22:50.6 (98th), and finally Kerstin Ly at 22:55.9 (99th) on the day at Texas Tech.
New Mexico claimed the top spot overall as a team with 60 points, followed by Stanford in second place with 85 points, and then Northern Arizona in third overall with 100 points.
