SEATTLE – The Washington State University Track and Field program continued to produce successful results at the UW Invitational, led by the men's squad in the mile event Saturday afternoon.
The Cougar men were anchored Saturday by
Colton Johnsen and
Zach Stallings, both who posted all-time Washington State marks in the mile event. Johnsen finished third overall with a time of 3:57.47, which is the second best in WSU history. Stallings went on to place sixth overall at 3:58.13, which became the fifth best time in WSU history as well. The Cougar men saw
Sam Brixey post a victory in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.80 in the finals.
The WSU women saw numerous victories during day two from the sprint squad, which included two wins from
Jasneet Nijjar, and another from
Skyler Walton. Nijjar took home first place in the 200-meter at 25.45, and first place in the 60-meter hurdles with a personal best of 8.91 as well. Walton continued her successful indoor season with a win in the 60-meter dash, posting a time of 7.61.
