Nijjar took first in the 200-meter with a personal best of 25.08, and she won the 400-meter with another personal best of 56.11 as well. NCAA All-American Charisma Taylor continued her dominance in a Cougar uniform with a win today in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.35. Skyler Walton posted a second place finish also in the 60-meter dash with a personal best of 7.51 also.

The men's squad during day two was anchored by NCAA All-American Sam Brixey, who took home first place in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.80 in the final round. Colton Johnsen also turned in a winning performance in the 3000-meter run, posting a time of 7:56.14, and is currently ranked eighth in the nation in the event. "We had an awesome two days of competition," said Wayne Phipps. "I want to thank the University of Washington, their athletic department, their medical staff, and their track staff for all of their work to provide a safe competitive experience for our student-athletics. And I would like to thank WSU, our administration, and our medical staff for all of their work to help prepare us for our first competition in almost a year!"

"Our student-athletes were very appreciative of this opportunity and took full advantage of it by competing at an extremely high level," Phipps continued. "There were dozens of personal bests and breakthrough performances in all event areas. Nationally ranked performances included NCAA All-American Charisma Taylor who won the women's 60-meter hurdles and is currently ranked 28th in the nation. Fellow NCAA All-American Sam Brixey won the men's 60m hurdles and is currently ranked seventh in the nation. The distance crew had one of the best opening meets in a long time, highlighted by Colton Johnsen's win in the 3000-meter, running the eighth fastest time in the nation; followed by Zach Stallings with the 18th best time in the nation (in his first ever 3km), and Justin Janke with the 30th best time in the nation."

"Also Paul Ryan, who has outdoor eligibility only, ran 3:58.22 for the mile which is a lifetime best, and the fourth fastest time in WSU history," Coach Phipps said. "Reid Muller who also has outdoor eligibility finished second in the 3km in a time that would be ranked ninth in the nation."
