The Cougars added two more to their 2020 Class.

PULLMAN, Wash. – Adding to their 2020 class, Washington State men's basketball head coach Kyle Smith announced the signings of two more student-athletes to National Letters of Intent Wednesday, April 15. The Cougs officially added Dishon Jackson (Vallejo, Calif.) and Jefferson Koulibaly (Montreal, Quebec) to their early signees Efe Abogidi (Delta State, Nigeria) and TJ Bamba (Bronx, NY) as freshmen for the 2020-21 season.

DISHON JACKSON | CENTER
One of the highest rated recruits in program history, Jackson, a 6-10 center from St. Patrick-St. Vincent, gives the Cougs another long athletic big man to patrol the paint in the Pac-12. As a senior, Jackson led the Bruins to the Division II NorCal State Championship game after going 26-11 on the year. Overall he averaged 13.8 points and 9.5 rebounds while adding 2.9 blocks per game. In the section championship game, Jackson went for 15 points, seven rebounds, and five blocks to defeat top-seeded Branson and secure the title for the Bruins. He would earn second team all-league and Third Team All-NorCal. As a freshman, Jackson and the Bruins won a state title while the team took home its first section title his sophomore season. Jackson becomes the first player from SPSV to sign with a DI school straight out of high school. On the AAU circuit he plays for the West Coast Elite Nor Cal averaging 13.1 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.

"Dishon is someone who I have seen play and develop since his freshman year of high school," said Smith. "He has great size, length and skill for a frontcourt player. He has an ability to play facing the basket which allows him to utilize his passing and dribbling. He is very young for his grade and we think he has very good potential as he grows into his body. Adding Dishon and Efe to our returning frontcourt players gives us depth, size, length and athleticism to compete in the Pac-12."

JEFFERSON KOULIBALY | GUARD
A pure scorer out of Canada, Koulibaly reclassified to the 2020 class to enter the college ranks a season ahead of schedule. As a senior at Lincoln Prep he was named the 2019-20 Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association Most Valuable Player after leading the league in scoring at 27.9 points while also averaging 10.4 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 2.5 steals per game. He would also earn team and province player of the year for his performance. In his final season, the explosive scorer wreaked havoc on the competition including posting a triple-double effort of 48 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists Jan. 17 versus FHC Prep. He was a four-time player of the month winning the award four-straight months from October through January and led his team to the final eight in tournament play for the first time in program history. His play earned him the All-Canadian Player of the Year as voted on at the Signature All-Canadian Showcase, the premier high school All-Star event for Canadian seniors. In addition to his high school resume, Koulibaly has been active in the Canadian youth national system including playing at the FIBA U16 Americas Championship in 2017 averaging 5.2 points in just over 13 minutes per game.

"We are very fortunate to have Jefferson Koulibaly sign with us. He had an amazing senior season at Lincoln Prep in Ontario, Canada.  He is a scoring, play-making, lead guard with good size. He gives us someone who can get in the paint, make plays for others, as well as get to the foul line and put pressure on the defense. His size and quickness should help us defensively on the perimeter. He comes to us with an eagerness to compete and get better every day. He was selected as Ontario MVP. Ontario produces some of the best talent in North America: Andrew Wiggins, Tristan Thompson, Corey Joseph and Jamal Murray to name a few. He was also cited as player of the year in Canada according by the Signature All-Canadian Showcase."
