Nick Rolovich Announces Cougar Football Staff Additions

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University first-year head football coach Nick Rolovich announced Thursday staff additions for the upcoming season.
 
"We have assembled a staff of tremendous people with energy and passion for being a part of Washington State football," said Rolovich.
 
Last month Rolovich announced his assistant coaches. Below are brief biographical sketches for each new member of the Cougar Football staff.
 
David Fox – Director of Football Operations
David Fox has spent the majority of his professional career in the collegiate ranks after starting as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Drake, in 1990. Most recently, he served as the director of football administration at the University of Nevada for four years and spent three seasons in a similar capacity at Tulane. He also has worked at the New Mexico Bowl and the University of New Mexico.
 
Rob Schlaeger – Director of Player Personnel
Rob Schlaeger has spent the previous two years as an assistant coach at Minot State University in North Dakota, where he was the defensive front coordinator/defensive line coach. He has previous coaching stints at West Florida and Southwest Minnesota State.
 
Jessi Seumalo – Director of On-Campus Recruiting
Jessi Seumalo arrived in Pullman having spent the previous 18 months as the football recruiting operations coordinator at the University of Utah. She also spent nearly two years as a football recruiting assistant at her alma mater, Oregon State, where she was a volleyball student-athlete.
 
Ryan Robinson – Assistant Director of Player Personnel
Ryan Robinson is in his first season as the Cougars' assistant director of player personnel. Robinson spent the previous four years as the director of football operations at New Mexico State after a coaching stint at Lubbock-Cooper High School. Robinson played collegiately at Middle Tennessee State.
 
Mike Slife – Assistant Director of Player Personnel
Mike Slife is in his first year in Pullman but is no stranger to the Pac-12 Conference, having spent two seasons as a football recruiting assistant at Colorado. Prior to Colorado, Slife spent the two years as the outside linebacker's coach at Colorado School of Mines. He also worked for the Cleveland Browns in the club's player personnel department and most recently for the Senior Bowl.
 
Bryce Oldroyd – Director of Football Digital Media
Bryce Oldroyd is in his first year as the Cougar's Director of Football Digital Media. Oldroyd previous was a student assistant in the Cougars' football recruiting office, creating graphics and football-related content for recruits and social media.
 
Jordan Malone – Defensive Analyst
Jordan Malone is in his first year in Pullman after spending the previous five seasons as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Minnesota State University, Mankato. Malone also spent two seasons working with the defensive backs at Augustana College
 
Stanley Franks, Jr. – Defensive Quality Control
Stanley Franks, Jr. is in his first season on the Cougar coaching staff after spending last season as the defensive coordinator at Cabrillo College in California. Franks also spent one year coaching for the Spokane Shock of the Arena League, two years with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League and three years at Idaho State University.
 
Jesse Bobbit – Defensive Graduate Assistant
Jesse Bobbit arrives in Pullman after spending the 2019 season as a defensive graduate assistant at his alma mater, South Dakota State. As a senior at SDSU, Bobbit served as team captain and was a second-team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection.
 
Mitch Viger – Defensive Graduate Assistant
Mitch Viger begins his second season in Pullman and first on Nick Rolovich's staff as a defensive graduate assistant. Viger spent the previous two seasons at Northern Illinois, working as the offensive quality control in 2017 before working as a defensive graduate assistant in 2018. Prior to NIU, Viger worked as a graduate assistant at South Dakota State.
 
Dan Ferrigno – Offensive Analyst
Dan Ferrigno brings four decades of coaching experience with him. He most recently served as the wide receivers coach/special teams coordinator at Cal Poly. He previous coaching stops include San Jose State, Michigan, San Diego State, Pacific, San Francisco State, Western Michigan, not to mention stops at Pac-12 schools USC, California, Oregon State, and Oregon.
 
Kolney Cassel – Offensive Quality Control
Kolney Cassel arrives in Pullman as part of Rolovich's staff, serving in a similar capacity as he did at Hawaii during the 2019 campaign. Cassel played quarterback for Hawaii in 2018 after transferring from Sacramento State, where he spent three seasons. Prior to that, he spent two seasons at SMU after graduating from Eisenhower High School in Yakima in 2013.
 
Rafael Aguilar – Offensive Graduate Assistant
Rafael Aguilar is in his first season as an offensive graduate assistant after serving in a similar capacity last season on Rolovich's staff at Hawaii. While earning his degree from Cal State University Sacramento, Aguilar spent two years coaching at American River College in Sacramento, Calif., as an assistant offensive line coach.
 
Mac Alexander – Special Teams Graduate Assistant
Mac Alexander is in his first season as a graduate assistant, working with the special teams units. Alexander previously coach one year at Tarleton State, one year at Fort Lewis College and four years at his alma mater, Colorado Mesa.
