CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Washington State University women's rowing junior Ivy Elling Quaintance has been named 2019 Pocock All-America Honorable Mention, Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA), announced.

A native of Sidney, British Columbia, Elling Quaintance concluded her third year as a member of the Washington State varsity rowing team in 2019. She started her career rowing with the second varsity eight as a freshman and has been a part of the varsity eight crew the last two seasons. The seven-seat for the varsity eight, Elling Quaintance helped her crew to the Fawley Cup with a win over Gonzaga in the annual regatta. She helped guide the Cougars to 14th at both the 2017 and 2018 NCAA Championships.

The honor is the first for Elling Quaintance who was named All-Pac-12 last month. She's the first Cougar to pick up CRCA All-America honors since Ieva Adomaviciute was named to the first team in 2017. A sport science major, Elling Quaintance is a two-time CRCA Scholar-Athlete and Pac-12 All-Academic honoree.

To receive the CRCA honors, nominated student-athletes are evaluated on the strength of their team's regional finish, coaches' recommendations and 2,000-meter erg score. Nominees must be eligible student-athletes who have competed in their schools' varsity boat in 75 percent of races this season.
