AUSTIN, Texas – The Washington State University Track and Field program saw Kyler Little named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America® Division I Cross Country/Track & Field first team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Thursday.

Kyler, a senior from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, earned himself his second overall Academic All-America selection throughout his Washington State career, with a 4.00 grade point average, majoring in computer science and mathematics. Little earned second team Academic All-America honors a year ago.

Little competed in a handful of indoor meets during the 2019 track season, including the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships, running in the 3000-meter event where he posted a PR of 8:16.40. He went on to see tremendous success throughout the outdoor season in the 3000-meter steeplechase, recording a lifetime best in the event at the Oregon State High Performance Meet at 8:56.41 overall.

He placed sixth in the 3000m steeplechase at the Pac-12 Championships, qualifying for the NCAA West Region Preliminary, where he finished the season off with a time of 8:59.71 (29th) in the event. Little was named to the Pac-12 Track and Field All-Academic First Team earlier this month as well, and earned a pair of Washington State Athletics senior awards including the Senior Excellence in Academics Award, and the Cougar Pride Academic Salute, which is awarded to a female, and male WSU senior who has maintained over a 3.00 cumulative GPA and has displayed exceptional academic, athletic and outstanding personal qualities

Kyler had himself a great cross country season during 2018 as well, earning a Pac-12 Conference Cross Country All-Academic first team selection. He helped the WSU men place fifth overall at the Pac-12 Championships to help the Cougars advance to the NCAA West Regional, where Washington State placed seventh against some of the top squads in the country.
