SAN FRANCISCO - Eight members of the Washington State swimming team earned Pac-12 All-Academic honors, the conference office announced Tuesday morning. Junior Luciana Brock and sophomore Taylor McCoy were named to the All-Academic First Team.

Junior Ryan Falk and sophomore Chloe Larson were named to the second team; while sophomores Mackenzie Duarte, Samantha Howell, and Maia Petrides and senior Linnea Lindberg all earned honorable mention honors.

To be eligible for selection to the all-academic teams, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.00 GPA and participate in at least half of their team's scheduled regular season events.

Brock was named to the first team for the second consecutive season after posting a 3.81 GPA while majoring in public relations. McCoy's first team selection is her first career academic accolade with the Pac-12, as the sophomore backstroker posted an impressive 3.82 GPA while majoring in political science.

Falk earned her second career all-academic accolades posting a 3.62 in apparel merchandising and design. Larson earned her first career all-academic honor after posting a 3.77 majoring in sport science.

Duarte and Lindberg each earned their first academic accolade of their careers after an impressive season. Duarte's success inside and outside the pool was shown through her 3.25 GPA and an appearance at the NCAA Championships in the 100 and 200 breast. Lindberg posted a 3.00 GPA while majoring in psychology and earned a National Invitational title in the 50 breast at this year's NICs. Howell put together a 3.01 GPA while majoring in human development, and Petrides earned a 3.34 majoring in psychology.

The Cougars have a history of excelling in the classroom. In January, the team earned the College Swimming Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Team honors for the sixth-straight semester. The Cougars boasted an impressive 3.48 overall team GPA during the Fall 2018 semester, the highest team GPA in 10 years.
