After three days of tryouts the 2019-20 Washington State cheer squad has been selected, head coach and spirit squad coordinator,
Jordan Benedict announced.
Participants from various cities and states vied for a spot on next season's Washington State cheer squad, Friday-Sunday, April 5-7, on the WSU campus. Participants showcased their tumbling, stunting and other material including the WSU fight song. New to this year, each stunt pair made up their own sideline cheer, and everyone completed an interview.
"This year, applicants had the option to tryout for either the Crimson or Gray Squad," Benedict said. "Both have a game day focus, but the Crimson Squad will be the competitive team. There was a lot of talent at tryouts this year, and spots will be competitive. I look forward to having the opportunity to work with this talented group this upcoming year."
