To be considered for the 2023-2024 team you must already be accepted into the University. Information for the Washington State University application process can be found here: Application
Proof of admission to Washington State University is required in order for a prospective cheerleader to be offered a roster spot by the Head Coach. It is important for individuals to note that they will need to be able to speak to their cumulative GPA, standardized test scores, and class rank, and must be reflected on the questionnaire for the application to be reviewed in its entirety.
NOTE: Admission into the University (Main Campus – Pullman), and fulltime enrollment (minimum 12 credits) is required in order to be on the team.
While technical skill and familiarity with advanced collegiate cheerleading is important, we are looking for those that have a team-like attitude and desire to want to be a part of the Coug family! Our team culture is strongly rooted in discipline, encouragement, and a family-like atmosphere to which we look for individuals who prioritize the same, as well as strong academic success.
We are looking for someone who knows and can speak to your CHARACTER outside of cheerleading. This letter should give examples and offer perspective to who you are as a person. This can be a cheer coach, school teacher/counselor, a supervisor/boss, or another individual who knows you very well. Please make sure that this letter is written by an adult that is not related to you.
Following up with coaches via email, or setting up a zoom call is the best way to build a relationship with our coaching staff. This communication helps us know that you are serious about attending Washington State University.
