THIS WEEK: Washington State tennis concludes its 2019 regular season schedule beginning Wednesday at the 2019 Pac-12 Tennis Championship at the Weil Tennis Courts in Ojai, Calif. The Cougars, currently No. 35 in the ITA ranking, enter the match with an 18-9 record and 3-7 in Pac-12 play. WSU enters as the No. 9 seed in the tournament and will face No. 8-seed Colorado Wednesday at 9 a.m.. A win by WSU would push the Cougars into Thursday's quarterfinal against No. 1 seed Stanford,
LAST TIME OUT:Â The Cougars fell to No. 13 Washington in Pullman. After capturing the doubles point, WSU dropped a pair of three-set matches as the Huskies captured the 4-1 victory.

UP NEXT: Following the Pac-12 Championship, the Cougars will await the 2019 NCAA Women's Tennis Selection Show to see if their season continues with a spot in the NCAA Championships, Monday, April 29.

2018 PAC-12 CHAMPIONSHIP: Washington State hopes to repeat its quarterfinal showing last year at the tournament. Entering as the No. 5 seed, the Cougars rallied from a 3-1 deficit to defeat No. 4 California, 4-3, in dramatic fashion as
Tiffany Mylonas capped a three-set marathon victory on her sixth match point to push WSU into the semifinals for the first time in school history. It marked just the second victory in 23 meetings against California, the previous one coming in 2002.

BAYERLOVA PLAYER OF THE WEEK:Â Washington State sophomore
Michaela Bayerlova was named the Pac-12 Women's Tennis Player of the Week, April 15, following a pair of nationally-ranked wins over the Southern California schools. Bayerlova had a pivotal win over UCLA's Jada Hart, ranked No. 38, as the Cougars defeated No. 10 UCLA 4-2. Bayerlova followed that with a convincing 6-1, 6-3 win over USC's Salma Ewing two days later. For the season, Bayerlova is 22-5 in singles, 7-2 against ranked players. The honor was the third POW award in her career.
ROAD WARRIORS:Â Washington State has played 16 of its 27 matches this season on the road. After a three-match homestand the past two weeks, the Cougars again leave Pullman for the Pac-12 Championship in Ojai, Calif. Following this week, WSU adds to its frequent flyer miles and will have travelled more than 14,500 miles on the season.

ITA RANKINGS:Â Washington State University women's tennis team is ranked No. 34 in the most recent ITA rankings. Earlier this year, WSU has held rankings of 35 (April 16), 42 (April 9), 36 (April 2), 35 (March 26), 33 (March 19), 36 (March 12), 28 (March 5), 31 (Feb. 26) and 15 (Feb. 19).
