ABOUT WASHINGTON: Washington is ranked No. 13 in the most recent ITA rankings and enter the match with a record of 17-3, 7-2 in Pac-12 play. The Huskies experienced just their third loss of the season when they fell against No. 10 UCLA, 4-1, last week. All three matches UW has lost this season have come against teams ranked in the Top 10 in the ITA rankings.
LAST TIME OUT:Â The Cougars, who were ranked No. 42 last week, secured their biggest upset in program history as they defeated No. 10 UCLA, 4-2. Looking for its second-straight upset victory cougars fell just short against No. 13 USC as the Trojans won 4-1. The win over UCLA marked just the second time in school history Cougar tennis has defeated the Bruins, the other coming in 2001.

UP NEXT:Â Following this weekend, Washington State travels to Ojai, Calif. for the 2019 Pac-12 Tennis Championship. Draws for the tournament will be determined following this weekend's play.

BAYERLOVA PLAYER OF THE WEEK:Â Washington state sophomore
Michaela Bayerlova was named the Pac-12 Women's Tennis Player of the Week following a pair of nationally-ranked wins last weekend. Bayerlova had a pivotal win over UCLA's Jada Hart, ranked No. 38, as the Cougars defeated No. 10 UCLA 4-2. Bayerlova followed that with a convincing 6-1, 6-3 win over USC's Salma Ewing two days later. For the season, Bayerlova is 22-5 in singles, 7-2 against ranked players. The honor was the third POW award in her career.
ROAD WARRIORS:Â Washington State has played 16 of its 26 matches this season on the road. While the Cougars close out its 2019 regular season schedule having played its final three matches at home, road trips to Missoula, Mont., Stanford, Calif., Waco, Texas, West Lafayette, Ind. Spokane, Manhattan, Kan., Lincoln, Neb., Salt Lake City, Boulder, Colo. Fresno, Calif. and the Bay Area have given WSU plenty of frequent flyer miles. WSU returned from California two weeks ago having travelled more than 12,230 miles on the season. Next week adds to that total as WSU heads to Southern California for the Pac-12 Championship.

ITA RANKINGS:Â Washington State University women's tennis team is ranked No. 35 in the most recent ITA rankings. Earlier this year, WSU has held rankings of 42 (April 9), 36 (April 2), 35 (March 26), 33 (March 19), 36 (March 12), 28 (March 5), 31 (Feb. 26) and 15 (Feb. 19). Aneta Miksovska enters the week with 96 career victories, in fourth place on the all-time wins list, one ahead of Ksenia Googe. Next up on the list is Elizaveta Luzina with 105 victories.
