Molly Myers scored three after the half to down Idaho.

PULLMAN, Wash. - Behind three second half goals from soon-to-be sophomore Molly Myers, Washington State soccer downed its regional rival Idaho, 3-1, in the spring version of the Battle of the Palouse. Despite playing with nearly a completely different active roster from the fall contest between the two teams, the results proved to be nearly identical after the Cougs won the 2018 regular season matchup, 3-0.

Down one goal after the opening 45 minutes of play, the Cougars found their groove immediately in the second half thanks to a long distance strike from Myers. The young Coug evened the game just :49 seconds into the new half, beginning an offensive onslaught. Myers would strike for a second time just a few minutes later, slotting home the go-ahead goal from Hailey Smith who had intercepted a clearance from the Vandals' keeper. Not done with her work for the day, Myers put the game away with her third goal of the afternoon, pouncing on an endline cross from Katie Jones.

In all, the Cougars put together a solid 90 minutes in Martin Stadium playing with just three starters from the fall contest with the Vandals. WSU was without star forward Morgan Weaver who began play at the Thorns Invitational with the U-23 National Team while a handful of other key contributors and starters were sidelined while still recovering from injuries. The Cougars finished the 2018 regular season with their second-straight trip to the the second round of the NCAA Tournament while posting a 13-6-1 overall record.
