OPENING XI
> Washington State enters the weekend with 13 wins on the year, one shy of tying the all-time program record done four times prior. Last season, the Cougs ended the year with 13 wins.
> WSU is headed to the second-round of the NCAA Tournament for a record third-straight time. 
> The Cougs defeated #14 Memphis last week in round one, 1-0, winning their first round game for the third-straight season.
> For the second-straight season the Cougs take on a No. 1 seed in the second round of the NCAA Tournament with a date with #3 Virginia Friday night in Charlottesville. The Cougs and Cavs have met twice all-time including in the 2011 NCAA Tournament Second Round, a game Virginia won 3-0 at home in Charlottesville.
> The Cougs are 5-10-4 all-time in the NCAA Tournament.
> Makamae Gomera-Stevens scored her first NCAA Tournament goal last week against Memphis, knocking in her team-best third game-winner on the year.
> Five Cougs were named All-Pac-12: Morgan Weaver (2nd Team), Brianna Alger, Averie Collins, Ella Dederick (3rd Team), and MacKenzie Frimpong-Ellertson (All-Frosh).
> Morgan Weaver finished the season tied for fourth in the Pac-12 with 11 goals including scoring six in Pac-12 play including a record four the last time WSU played at home.
> The Cougars defense has been solid all year allowing just 1.10 gpg, while producing eight shutouts in 20 games. In the last 10 contests the Cougs have earned four shutouts and given up one goal or fewer in eight contests
> 11 different Cougars have scored on the year led by Morgan Weavers' 11. Eight different Cougs have scored game-winners.
> Brianna Alger finished the regular season #36 in the nation in assists per game at 0.47 (9 total) and tied for #4 in the Pac-12. WSU enters the second round #30 overall in assists per contest at 1.95 (39 total).

COUGS HEADED BACK TO THE SECOND ROUND
The Cougs played their way to the NCAA Second Round for the third-straight season with the 1-0 win over Memphis in round one. The trip to the second round is the first time in program history the Cougs have won their opening game in three-consecutive seasons. 
The win over Memphis was the Cougs second-straight home win in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. 
WSU is in the postseason for the eighth time in the last nine seasons and the 10th time in the last 12 years. WSU sports a 5-10-4 record in the NCAA tournament. Last season WSU bowed out at No. 1 seed Georgetown in round two. In 2017, the Cougs pushed their way to the third round for the first time in program history.

VERSUS VIRGINIA
The Cougs have met the Cavaliers twice in program history, both coming during the 2011 season and both games taking place in Charlottesville. The Cavaliers hold a 1-0-1 record in the two games as the two teams played to a 0-0 draw in the first game before Virginia won 3-0 in the second round of the 2011 NCAA Tournament.
Virginia enters the postseason ranked #3 in the country and earned a No. 1 seed after dropping just one game in the regular season, a 2-1 (2OT) loss to North Carolina in the finals of the ACC Tournament.
