Busy weekend as Cougars Head to Portland and California

>> Fresh off of a strong showing at the Head of the Spokane regatta, The Washington State University women's rowing team will travel to Gold River, Calif. to compete in the Head of the American hosted by the Sacramento State Aquatic Center, Saturday, Oct. 26... the regatta starts at 9 a.m. and takes place on Lake Natoma... the race is in head format, in which the boats start at intervals, racing both the clock and each other... the race covers a 5,000-meter stretch of the Lake Natoma. 

The 2019 Portland Fall Classic 
>> The Washington State University varsity women's rowing team will also head to Vancouver,  Wash. on Sunday, Oct. 27 to compete in the 13th Portland Fall Classic…the Cougars will face their first Pac-12 opponent of the 2019-20 season as Oregon State is entered in the Portland Fall Classic as well other collegiate teams include University of Portland and Willamette University...the Portland Fall Classic is a 5-kilometer course on Vancouver Lake which was last used in 2011... Racing will begin at 9 a.m, weather permitting.

Previously at the Portland Fall Classic
>> At the Portland Fall Classic in the women's division I varsity eight race, the WSU varsity eight finished the 5-kilometer course with a time of 17:50.422 to finish third behind Portland in first (17:34.115) and Oregon State in second (17:48.109)... WSU raced its second varsity in the junior varsity eight race, finishing with a time of 17:58.069 placing second… in the varsity four race, WSU's varsity four finished first with a time of 18:05 and the second varsity four finished third with a time of 18:33.570…the third varsity four secured first place with a time of 18:41.379 in the women's collegiate junior varsity four race, followed by WSU's fourth varsity who captured second with a time of 18:46.957.

Last Time on the Water 
>> At the Head of the Spokane, WSU varsity B team placed first with a time of 17:03.6…the varsity A team placed second with a time of 17:04. 7....the varsity C team finished fourth with a time of 17:48.6… the varsity D team placed fifth overall, posting a time of 18:39.2. Rounding out the crew from Washington State was the novice eight team finished ninth overall with a time of 21:45.9.
