Rowing Cruises Past Gonzaga at Head of the Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Washington State University women's rowing team made the journey up north to face Gonzaga Saturday morning at the Head of the Spokane at the Spokane River.
Making the trip for the Cougars was four total varsity eight teams, along with one novice eight team. "We had some good runs down the course today," head coach Jane LaRiviere. "We learned a lot and I think racing today will set us up to have an awesome week of practice."
In the first flight of the day the WSU varsity B team (coxswain - Chloe White, Samantha Schmidt, Abigail Linnenkohl, Kamila Ondrackova, Maddy Pollard, Rosalina Torcivia, Emma Conaty, Emma Barrett, Cierra Bird) placed first with a time of 17:03.6…the varsity A team (coxswain - Ella Greenslade Emma Gribbon, Jessica Norris, Megan Duthart ,Kateryna Maistrenko,Gabby Hannen, Isabella Cristelli, Caitlin Donaldson, Sue Yu) placed second with a time of 17:04.7.

The varsity C team (coxswain -Juliet Perry, Nora Hefte, Allison Nelson, Ella Cowan de Wolf, Madeleline Bingham, Laurita Nemeraviciute, Alana Duvall, Kyra Parker, Meg Montgomery) finished fourth with a time of 17:48.6… the varsity D team (coxswain - Rachel Gartner, Talia Jacobson, Kendra Mutch, Ony Chigozie, Caroline Kowalchuk, Molly Miller, Cate Field, Lina Winiski, and Dakota Pint) placed fifth overall, posting a time of 18:39.2. Rounding out the crew from Washington State was the novoice eight team (coxswain - Paloma Probart, Elizabeth Hults, Katherine Hubbard, Chloe Brew, Katlyn Cook, Trisha Martinson, Rhian Mathis, Brooke Aberle, and Autumn Finley) finished ninth overall with a time of 21:45.9.Â
