>> The Washington State University women's rowing team will travel an hour and a half north to Spokane, to compete in the Head of The Spokane hosted by Gonzaga, Saturday, Oct. 19, and takes place on the Spokane river... the race is in head format, in which the boats start at intervals, racing both the clock and each other... the race covers a 5,000-meter stretch of the Spokane River.

>> The Cougars sent two varsity eight teams, two varsity four teams, two novice eight teams, and three pairs... The WSU's women's varsity eight (17:40) and WSU's second varsity eight (18:53) rowed against each other with the varsity eight placing first... WSU's varsity four (18:31) took first in their flight with WSU's second varsity four (19:32) placing third behind Gonzaga's second varsity four...WSU's pair C (20:20) boat placed second in their flight with WSU's pair A (20:37) and pair B (20:40) placing forth and fifth respectively... Lastly, in the Novice flight WSU second novice eight (21:02) placed first and WSU's novice eight placed second.

>> WSU raced seven pairs in the women's coxless 4,000-meter flight and two individuals raced in the women's single sculls at the Burnaby Lake Invitational in British Columbia.

Gabby Hannen won the sprint an captured the title of Regatta Champions...In the pair races five cougar pairs finished in the top six in the pairs race and advanced to the sprint.

Jessica Norris finished second (16:14.696),
Caitlin Donaldson and
Kateryna Maistrenko finished third (16:37.385), Gribbon and Hannen finished fourth (16:37.433),
Samantha Schmidt and
Maddy Pollard finished fifth (16.54.656) and
Kamila Ondrackova and
Isabella Cristelli finished sixth (17:02.345)... In the singles race
Renee Kemp finished fifth with a time of 17:57.692. and went on to finish second in the single scull sprint.
Laurita Nemeraviciute finished tenth with a time of 18:53.522 in the pair race.
