In Case You Missed It ...
EUGENE, Ore. – Taking on their second top ranked team in as many games, Washington State (6-8, 1-2) suffered a 98-58 loss to No. 5 Oregon (13-1, 2-0) on the road at Knight Arena Sunday in Eugene, Ore. Oregon was able to exploit their advantage in the paint as Ruthy and Satou Sabally combined for 33 first half points. In the third, the Cougars found their offense, shooting an impressive 10-for-14 in the period, only to see the Ducks match the effort going 13-of-18 with Hebard again leading the way with 12 more points in the quarter. th career three-pointer. The fourth-year Coug moved into 18th all-time in scoring with 1,002 career points.
Coach Ethridge Quote of the Game
"They're really good. Obviously they've got great length and great bodies. They've got great shooting. Ruthy (Hebard), their five, had a bad game the last one and I know he (Coach Graves) got on her. It's our Achilles heel a little bit. We don't have much of a post presence and they really took it to us in every phase of the game. We didn't show much fight and we didn't show much spirit. That was a really hungry and competitive team we played and we can take some lessons and learn a few things from them."
