THIS WEEK
The Washington State women's golf team heads to Albuquerque, N.M. to compete at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational Monday through Tuesday, Sept. 10-11. The tournament is held on the Championship Golf Course at the University of New Mexico, where par is 72 and 6,317 yards. Teams will tee off at 7:30 a.m. with a shot gun start on both days.
THE FIELD
15 teams will join Washington State in the field, including New Mexico, Berkeley, UC Davis, Central Arkansas, No. 22 Colorado, Fresno State, Idaho, Iowa, Iowa State, No. 15 Kent State, UNLV, New Mexico State, No. 11 Northwestern, Pepperdine, and San Diego State.

"New Mexico is a tough field. It's a chance to go out and compete as a group for the first time. We spent a lot of time talking about culture and putting the work in on the golf course, and we're just excited to go out there and see what they can achieve together."

LAST SEASON
In the 2017-18 season, the Cougars finished with 11 individual and team records broken, a tournament title, and an individual NCAA berth. Returning to the course this year is
Marie Lund-Hansen. Lund-Hansen etched her name in the Cougars' record book after finishing the Ron Moore Intercollegiate at eight-under with a combined 208 over 58 holes. The Denmark native finished the season with a 74.10 scoring average, the seventh-best individual scoring season in program history.
Madison Odiorne,
Elodie Bridenne, and
Emily Baumgart are returning to the course this year. Odiorne enters her senior campaign with two top-20 finished, including a 19th place finish at the WSU Cougar Cup and 20th at the Pac-12 Championships. Bridenne is starting her junior season, after averaging a 78.29 scoring average in 21 rounds last season. Baumgart will compete as a redshirt-sophomore this season, after averaging 77.96 shots per round in 28 rounds.
COUGARS WELCOME THREE NEWCOMERS
Washington State welcomes three freshmen to the roster -
Amy Chu,
Cameron March, and
Kenedee Peters. Australian native Chu has made a name for herself in the international golf world. Chu has competed all over the world, including America, Thailand, and Vietnam. She has made a name for herself in her home country as well, holding 11 championship finishes in Australian tournaments. Los Angeles, Calif. native March played four years of golf and three years of softball at Marlborough School. March earned All-League first team in golf her sophomore and junior season. Peters is no stranger to the Northwest. As an Ephrata High School graduate, Peters led the women's golf team to a team state title in 2015 and was a three-time individual state champion. Peters was awarded the WJGA Player and Junior Player of the Year as a freshman.
COACHING STAFF
The team is led by 10-year head coach
Kelli Kamimura, who led the women's golf team to 11 program records, a tournament title, and an individual NCAA berth in the 2017-18 season. WSU alumna Emma Betland is entering her fourth season as an assistant coach. Betland golfed at WSU from 2010-2013.
