SANTA CLARA, Calif. – A pair of Washington State swimmers recently competed at the Santa Clara TYR Pro Swimming Meet.
Freshmen Mackenzie Duarte and Taylor McCoy each competed at the meet that featured many of the world's best swimmers. Duarte finished 20th in the 100 L breastroke preliminaries and 11th in the 200 L breastroke preliminaries. McCoy competed in four events and finished second in B Final of the 200 L backstroke and 13th overall in the preliminaries of the 200 L backstroke.

"Mackenzie and Taylor both had solid meets and made it to consolation finals in their best events," head coach Tom Jager said. "Both Mack and Taylor have been in the middle of heavy, hard training and they both went out, competed and swam tough. It was a great experience and a great opportunity to work on specific aspects of their race."
