WHO WHAT WHEN WHERE
PULLMAN, Wash.  -- The No. 18 ranked Washington State Cougars (18-6, 9-5 Pac-12) completed the season sweep of the Arizona State Sun Devils (13-13, 4-10 Pac-12) with a 3-0 victory Sunday afternoon.
Set scores from the match were: 25-12, 25-20, and 25-21 in favor of the Cougars.Â
Washington State opened the first set of play with a statement, jumping out to a 7-3 lead as
McKenna Woodford,
Claire Martin,
Jocelyn Urias, and
Taylor Mims all recorded kills to fuel the offensive attack. The Cougars only continued to extend that lead, with help from Martin on defense, totaling four blocks to see the home squad with a 21-9 advantage. WSU went on to seal the opening set with back-to-back kills from both Urias, and Woodford for the 25-12 win.
Each of these programs were locked in a tight battle early to begin the second set of play, until the Sun Devils erupted for a 9-1 run against the Cougars, putting the visitor lead at 15-10. Washington State begin chipping away at the Arizona State advantage to ultimately tie up the set at 18-18 with some offensive help from Urias, and
Penny Tusa. A 7-1 run from WSU capped off the second set for the Cougars as back-to-back blocks from Martin, and Mims sealed the 25-20 win.
The Cougars continued to use the momentum from the previous set, generating a 4-0 run with kills by both Tusa, and Mims. The Sun Devils went on multiple small runs throughout this set, but Washington State held strong for the entirety of the game, never dropping the lead, and ultimately downed ASU with a 3-1 run of their own for the sweep victory.

Claire Martin posted nine total blocks (six block assists, three solo) to held anchor the defensive front of WSU. This was Martin's second highest block total of the season as well.

- Urias posted a match-high 13 kills today, along with totaling a hitting percentage of .667 against ASU.
- Woodford also found herself in double-digits in kills with 11 total.Â
- Ashley Brown went on to record 32 assists in the match, and provided 11 digs for her 13th double-double of the season.
- Olivia Coale tallied 11 digs in the contest as well, her seventh match with 10 or more digs this year.Â
