Woods Named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week

| By:
SAN FRANCISCO – Washington State linebacker Jahad Woods was named the Pac-12 Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.

Woods earns his second career Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week after earning his first last season following the win over No. 5 USC.

In Saturday's win over Arizona, Woods made a career-high 11 tackles, his first career double-digit tackle game, forced one fumble and recovered another. The redshirt-sophomore from San Diego also assisted on a tackle-for-loss for the Cougars who forced four turnovers, tallied eight tackles-for-loss including four sacks and held the Wildcats to 3.4 yards-per-carry.

Woods earns WSU's first Pac-12 defensive weekly accolade this season and the third over WSU Pac-12 weekly accolade in 2018. (Gardner Minshew II (QB) and Travell Harris (KR) earned offensive and special teams player of the week awards, respectively, following the win over Eastern Washington).
