STANFORD, CALIF. - The Washington State women's golf team moved up to 15th after round two at the Stanford Intercollegiate hosted by Condoleezza Rice. The Cougars carded a 292(+8) in the second round to bring their overall score to 596(+28). The team sits just ahead of Harvard who posted a 298(+14) and Oklahoma State who carded a 290(+6) during round two of play.
Senior Madison Odiorne continues to lead the Cougars, carding a 73(+2) in round two. The Bend, Ore. native put together an overall score of 145(+3) after two rounds to bring her tied for 32nd with Monica Matsubara from No. 18 Northwestern. Odiorne scored seven birdies while going three-under on par-five and one-under on par-three.
Junior Marie Lund-Hansen carded a one-over, 72, in the second round of play to bring her overall score to 147(+5). Freshman Amy Chu went three-over, 74, for the day, carding a 150(+8) overall score. The Australia native went one-over on par-threes during the second round of play. Redshirt-sophomore Emily Baumgart shot five birdies during the second round, scoring a 73(+2).
As a team, No. 3 USC leads the tournament with a 10-under, 558, after carding a 286(+2) in the second round. Individually, No. 20 Mariel Galdiano from UCLA leads going into the clubhouse. Galdiano carded a nine-under, 62, during the second round, bringing her overall score to a 133(-9).
The third, and final, round of play for the Stanford Intercollegiate begins Sunday at 7:30 a.m.
