PULLMAN, WASH. - Washington State swim fell to the reigning Mountain West Conference champions Boise State Sunday, 151-108. Seven Cougars swam season-best times in their respective events, while the Cougars garnered three individual first place finishes and a win in the 200 free relay.

Freshman Keiana Fountaine earned 16 points for the Cougars, as she was able to claim first place in the 200 free when she edged out Lauren Vitort from Boise State, finishing in a season-best time of 1:50.44. The Tracy, Calif. native also placed second in the 50 free, just two-hundredths of a second ahead of Emmie Jennings from Boise State. Fountaine took a third-place finish in the 100 free, clocking in 0.25 seconds behind second place with a time of 52.16. Fountaine swam the opening leg of the first place 200 free relay team. Alongside teammates Chloe Larson, Paige Gardner, and Payton Bokowy, the team clocked an impressive 1:37.86.

The Cougars also saw multiple top-three finishes from sophomore Taylor McCoy and junior Ryan Falk. McCoy earned 15 points for her team after winning the 400 IM, second in the 200 back, and fifth in the 100 back. The Pullman, Wash. native swam the opening leg of the 400 medley relay team, alongside teammates Linnea Lindberg, Sophia Balmaceda, and Emily Barrier, the team swam to a second-place finish. Falk saw second place finishes in the 1000 and 500 free. Touching the wall in 10:24.17 in the 1000 free, Falk was just hundredths of a second behind first place Mandy Barnes from Boise State. The Portland, Ore. native, alongside teammates Lindberg, Samantha Howell, and Hailey Hyde, swam to a second place in the 200 free relay team.

Linnea Lindberg, a senior from Stockholm, Sweden, garnered 10 points for the Cougars after winning the 100 breast.

The Cougars will be back in the pool for competition as they travel across the border to Moscow, Idaho to take on the Vandals from the University of Idaho. The meet is set to begin at 11 a.m.
