LAS VEGAS—Washington State Tennis swept all five singles and both doubles matches to open play at the 2017 UNLV Fall Invitational Friday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

In singles play,
Barbora Michalkova, a senior from As, Czech Republic, defeated Northren Arizona Lena Pacholski, 6-4, 7-6, in the first round of No. 1 Singles draw.

In No. 2 Singles draw, Ameta Miksovska a junior from Stramberk, Czech Republic, rallied from a set down to earn a 6-7, 6-2, 6-2 victory against Long Beach State's Lalita Devarakonda. Also in the second flight, Cougar junior
Tiffany Mylonas, from Brussels, Belgium, recorded a straight-set win over NAU's Brandy Walker, 7-6, 6-3.

Sophomore
Melisa Ates of Antalya, Turkey, posted a 6-1, 7-5 victory against NAU's Eleanor Millard in the No. 3 Singles draw.Â
Ege Tomey, a sophomore from Izmir, Turkey, was victorious in the first round of the No. 4 Singles draw against UTEP's Milena Baigorria, cruising to a 6-0, 6-0 win.

All five singles players advanced to the semifinals of their respective flights.

In doubles action, Michalkova and Ates advance to the next round of the No. 1 doubles flight after a 8-5 win over Long Beach State's Lena Pacholski and Natalia Munoz. In the second doubles flight, Mylonas and Miksovska posted an 8-2 victory over the NAU pair of Eirene Granville and Cora-Lynn Von Dungern. Both WSU teams moved on to Saturday's semifinals.
