Cougs Conclude Play in New Mexico

Cougs finished in 13th over the weekend.

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico: The WSU men's golf team remained in 13th place after the third and final round of the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate. The team marked their best round of the tournament, shooting a 300(+12) to add to their three round score of 906(+42). The tournament took place at the UNM Championship Golf Course, September 22-23.
 
Leading scoring for the Cougars was junior Grant Cole, who tied for 40th overall. Cole concluded play with a 225(+9), rounding his total out with a third round score of 76(+4).
 
Senior Brian Mogg and junior AJ Armstrong improved their ranking after the final round, sharing a final score of 226(+10), and leaving them tied with four others for 45th place.
 
Sophomore Daniel Kolar had a strong showing early in the round, birdieing four out of the first five holes. Kolar scored an even 36 in the first nine, contributing to his overall score of 74(+2) for the day. He finished out the tournament tied with two others for 77th place.
 
The Cougars will have a two week break before competing in the Paintbrush Intercollegiate in Erie, Colorado, October 9-10.
