KANE'OHE, Hawaii – Led by junior
Alivia Brown in second place, Washington State women's golf is also second after the first two rounds of the 32nd Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, Tuesday, at Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course.
Coming off their second-lowest round score relative to par (-5, 283) in school history, in the third round of the Westbrook Spring Invitational, Feb. 26, the Cougars shot 2-over par (290), in the first round of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, Tuesday. They followed that up shooting 2-under par (286) in the second round for a two-round score even to par (576).Â
Eighteenth-ranked Texas A&M leads the field, shooting 4-under par (572) through two rounds. The Cougars are just four strokes behind in second after shooting even par (576) through two rounds. They lead No. 19 Oklahoma State by nine strokes after the Cowgirls shot 9-over par (585) on the day. No. 24 Texas is in fourth at 10-over par (586), followed by Idaho in fifth (+12, 588). No. 21 NC State is tied for sixth at 13-over par (589).
Brown, who carded seven birdies on the day, shot 1-under par (71) in the first round and followed it up with a second-round score of 4-under par (68) for a two-round score of 5-under par 139 for second place. Brown trails tournament-leader and the 10th-ranked collegiate player in the country, Texas A&M's Maddie Szeryk, by just one stroke as she shot 6-under par (138) through two rounds. Four golfers are tied for third two strokes back of Brown at 3-under par (141). Brown's 68 in the second ties her career-best one round score.
Senior
Cherokee Kim shot 1-under par (71) in the first round and even par (72) in the second for a two-round score of 1-under par (143) as she sits in 11th place following the first day. Freshman
Marie Lund-Hansen shot even par (72) in the first round followed by 2-over par (74) in the second, for a total of 2-over par (146), as she is tied f or 17th.Â
Sophomore
Madison Odiorne improved her second round  by four strokes to finish 4-over par (148) through two rounds for a tie for 29th, while junior
Bree Wanderscheid improved her score by 2 strokes in the second round to  sit in a tie for 41st (+6, 150).
Competing as individuals, freshman
Elodie Bridenne is tied for 53rd (+8, 152) while junior
Jamie Midkiff is tied for 84th (+15, 159).
