THIS WEEK: The Washington State women's tennis team returns to Hollingbery Fieldhouse for the first time since Jan. 21 when it hosts Fresno State and Idaho in a pair of weekend matches. The Fresno State match will take place Saturday, Feb. 25 at 11 a.m., while the Cougars will face Idaho Sunday at 2 p.m. The Cougars enter the weekend with a 7-3 record, while Fresno State is 2-2 and Idaho is 4-3. The Vandals will face North Dakota Friday prior to Sunday's contest.

FRESNO STATE/IDAHO HISTORY: The Cougars hold a 14-13 edge all-time against Fresno State, including a tough, 4-3 loss last season in Fresno. The last time these teams met in Pullman WSU came away with a 5-2 win in 2014. Against Idaho, WSU 30-18 all-time advantage, including winning the last 19 matches dating back to 1992.

LAST TIME OUT: The Cougars split their two matches in Texas last weekend, falling 4-3 against Kansas State before rebounding with a 4-3 victory over North Texas. Â In the win over North Texas the Cougars captured the doubles point then received singles wins from
Guzal Yusupova,
Aneta Miksovska and
Melisa Ates. WSU also captured the doubles point against Kansas State with Ates and
Lejla Colic providing singles victories.

WSU HOSTS ANNUAL BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MATCH: WSU's match against Fresno State Saturday with be the annual breast cancer awareness match. The first 40 fans can pick up a pink Cougar Fight T-shirt, while coffee and doughnuts will be provided while supplies last. Admission is free for all fans.

COUGAR TENNIS HOSTS USTA CAMPUS KIDS' DAY SUNDAY: WSU Tennis will host its annual USTA Campus Kids' Day following its match against Idaho, Sunday, Feb. 26. Kids of all ages are invited to attend the match, which begins at 2 p.m. at the Simmelink Tennis Courts at Hollingbery Fieldhouse, meet Butch T. Cougar, play on the inflatable games and enjoy an ice cream social with the team following the conclusion of the match. Campus Kids' Days is an effort by the USTA and is designed to expose current and aspiring junior players, along with their parents and coaches, to college tennis. Campus Kids' Day and the match between WSU and Idaho are free for all fans to attend.

FRESHMEN TO PLAY BIG ROLE: It's still early but WSU's freshman class will not have long to adjust to the college game. With four of WSU's seven players being freshmen, the young class is playing a key role in WSU's success this season. So far the group is on the right track, posting a combined 54-23 singles record, led by
Melisa Ates' 18-5 mark.

COACH HART:
Lisa Hart is in her 14th season as the head coach of Washington State. Hart has accumulated a 178-157 record, the wins total being the most of any coach in WSU tennis history. In 2012, the Cougars went 19-7 as Hart was awarded the Pac-12 Conference Women's Tennis Coach of the Year award.
