MATCHUP NOTES
In the final game of the calendar year, the Cougars head to Corvallis to face off against the three-time defending Pac-12 champions and No. 17/17 ranked Oregon State Beavers Sunday afternoon. OSU has won the last seven meetings between the two teams including an 80-58 win in Corvallis last December in the lone matchup between the two sides in 2017-18. The last WSU win came in Corvallis on Feb. 15, 2013 (51-49). Overall, the Beavers own a 53-30 advantage over the Cougars all-time including a 28-11 mark in Corvallis.
LAST TIME OUT
A big run by the No. 10 ranked Oregon Ducks (12-2, 1-0 Pac-12) in the opening quarter set the tone for the Cougars (7-6, 0-1 Pac-12) on the road as Washington State fell 89-56 to open Pac-12 play Friday afternoon. Playing without their top scorer in Borislava Hristova, the Cougs could not match the firepower of the high-octane Ducks who took over the game in the opening minutes with a 14-0 run that put the Cougs down double-digits just four minutes into the game. Despite the best efforts of Louise Brown early and Kayla Washington late, the Cougs could never catch the Ducks as Oregon saw the sophomore stars of Sabrina Ionescu and Ruthy Hebard combine for 50 of the team's 89 points. Oregon would put the game away for good in the fourth with the Ducks put together a 15-0 run.

The Beavers enter the game 10-2 overall and 1-0 in Pac-12 play after defeating Washington Friday afternoon. The Beavers are the top defensive team in the Pac-12 and 11th-ranked in the country after allowing just 53.8 ppg. Defensively, OSU does their damage by protecting the rim with 7.0 blocks per game, 5th-best in the nation led by Marie Gülich at 3.4 per game. Offensively, the Beavers have averaged 81.6 points per game, also led by Gülich who is averaging 15.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.
