TUCSON, Ariz. - A goal in the seventh minute of action proved to be the difference Sunday morning in Tucson as Washington State (9-7-2, 4-6-0) suffered a 1-0 loss to the home Wildcats of Arizona (9-4-4, 6-2-2) at Mulcahy Stadium. In what proved to be a fairly evenly matched contest, the Cougs could not find the equalizer throughout the day despite forcing a handful of tough saves early. With the ball refusing to go in on the offensive end, WSU could not overcome one goal deficit that came about after the Wildcats scored on just their second shot of the contest. Cutting through the defense, Arizona's Gabi Stoian was able to find the back of the next just inside the far post at the 6:50 mark in the game for what would be the game-winner for the Wildcats.
