Final Homestand for Soccer Brings No. 2 UCLA and No. 6 USC to Town

ABOUT THE MATCHUPS
Coming home for the final time in 2017, the Cougs have a chance to make a late statement with games against No. 2 UCLA and No. 6 USC...The games mark the second and third-straight games against top-25 opponents as well as the Cougs second and third matches of the year against the nation's top-10..For the second time WSU will host the No. 2 team in the country after taking on Stanford (which is now #1) back on Sept. 21, falling 2-1 at Lower Soccer Field...On the year, the Cougs are 2-2-1 against top-25 opponents with three shutouts.

THE WEEKEND'S SPECIAL EVENTS
As part of October's Breast Cancer Awareness month the Cougs are going pink Thursday against UCLA...the Cougs, along with teams around the country, don pink to raise awareness of breast cancer, an awareness campaign that has been highly successful over the last decade...Sunday, the Cougs honor their four seniors (Sofia Anker-Kofoed, Jordan Branch, Kelsee Crenshaw, and Chelsea Harkins) who will be playing for the final time at Lower Soccer Field.

LAST TIME OUT
Thursday evening the Cougs went to Eugene and came up with a 2-1 win over the Ducks to run their unbeaten streak to seven-consecutive contests...freshman Brianna Alger got the scoring started in the 20' while sophomore Morgan Weaver scored the game-winner in the 32'...Sunday, the Cougs dominated the day and the stat sheet against Oregon State but suffered a tough-luck loss as the Beavers scored the game-winner in the 102' to come away with a 1-0 (2OT) win.

ABOUT THE BRUINS
UCLA enters the week as the No. 2 team in the country after dropping ou of the top spot last week with a draw against Arizona...They enter the game 12-0-2 and have not lost on the pitch since falling 2-0 to Utah last season on Oct. 30, they bowed out of the NCAA on PKs after a 1-1 draw with West Virginia in the round of 16...UCLA's high octane offense has scored 38 goals on the year led by Hailie Mace with 12 goals in 14 games...Teagan Micah leads the defense from the goal having allowed just 11 goals while producing 30 saves.

ABOUT THE TROJANS
USC is unbeaten in Pac-12 play having posted a 5-0-1 record, good enough for a tie for 2nd in the conference with cross-town rival UCLA, and having fallen just once on the year at 11-1-1...their lone loss came at Kansas, 2-1, back on Sept. 3...On the year the defending national champs have outscored their opponents 25-8 with four different scorers having produced at least four goals...Kaylie Collins has gone 10-1-1 with five shutouts in goal for USC, however, Julia Murphy started the Trojans' last contest vs Colorado.
