Kaysie Shebeneck Named WSU Volleyball Operations Coordinator

PULLMAN, Wash. -- Kaysie Shebeneck is the new Operations Coordinator for the Washington State volleyball program, Head Coach Jen Greeny announced Friday.
 
"We are very excited to have Kaysie on board with Cougar Volleyball," Greeny said. "She is not only a go-getter with a fantastic work ethic, but also a tremendous person. Kaysie will be a great addition to our volleyball family and will help build upon our program's success."
 
Shebeneck joins the Cougars staff after completing her career as a setter for the Texas A&M volleyball team where the Aggies tallied four NCAA Championship Tournament bids and won the Southeastern Conference (SEC) title once. She earned SEC Academic Honor Roll honors four times and was selected the team's Most Inspirational Player in 2014. She graduating from Texas A&M in May 2017 with Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Spanish and in International Studies and a minor in Communication. Shebeneck also has five years of experience as an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher in both Wisconsin and Texas in addition to brief time in Chile.
 
In addition to playing volleyball, Shebeneck was a coach with the Aggie Elite Volleyball Club and coached at the Texas A&M Volleyball Summer Camps.
 
A native of Racine, Wis., Shebeneck was a two-time Wisconsin Gatorade Prep Volleyball Player of the Year. She graduated from Burlington High School in 2013 and led the Demons volleyball team to back-to-back state championship titles after a pair of top five placings her first two years. She played setter, right side and middle blocker in high school, was a two-time all-state tournament selection, tournament MVP and a two-time all-state first team selection by the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association. As a senior Shebeneck was All-Area Co-Player of the Year. She was selected to PrepVolleyball.com's top players by class all four years, an All-American in 2011 and 2012, was named 2011 PrepVolleyball.com's National Junior of the Year finalist as well as a finalist for the 2012 Andi Collins Award which recognizes the best senior setter in the nation. She was a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Association scholar-athlete 2013 finalist.
 
Shebeneck played for the Milwaukee Sting Club team for eight years, leading her team to four top-five finishes at the national championships. She earned AAU All-American honors after leading her club to a runner-up finish in the 17 Open Division at the 2012 AAU Girls Junior National Volleyball Championship.
 
In addition to her volleyball prowess, Shebeneck was a three-year letterwinner on the Burlington track and field team, winning two conference titles and a regional championship in the shot put and qualifying for sectionals in the high jump.
 
Shebeneck replaces Katie Hinrichs who earlier this spring became an assistant volleyball coach at Montana State after six seasons as operations coordinator for the WSU Volleyball Program.
